their base of insurance expertise by participating in technical and
professional development workshops and seminars.

Professional Ethics, placing their client's needs before their own.

"CLU" or Chartered Life
Underwriter
The Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation is the undisputed
professional credential for persons involved in the protection,
accumulation, preservation, and distribution of the economic values
of human life. Since the first examinations were held in 1928, more
than 85,000 men and women have met the educational, experience, and
ethics mandates needed to earn the CLU designation. The CLU program
provides insights into the life insurance business, its importance
to the economy, its operations and distribution systems, and its
resurging importance for safe and secure investments. For agents,
field managers, home office personnel, and others involved in
providing life insurance products to the public, the CLU designation
is the common bond for continuing growth and commitment to
professionalism.
"CIC" or Certified Insurance
Counselor
In order to earn the designation CIC (Certified Insurance
Counselor), each individual must have attended five institutes
covering all phases of the insurance business and passed five
rigorous examinations. Each of the five CIC institutes consists of 2
1/2 days of intensive classroom instruction. Additionally, the
National Society requires annual attendance in the Program to
maintain the designation.
The Society of Certified Insurance
Counselors provides practical education for insurance professionals.
The Society of CIC, a member of The National Alliance for Insurance
Education & Research, is a not-for-profit organization founded in
1969 that provides technical knowledge to all areas of the insurance
industry. Currently, there are more than 59,000 participants in the
CIC Program; over 25,000 have earned the CIC designation.
